Amazon Experience
Welcome aboard! If you work in or are interested in healthcare, education, culture, sustainability, social impact, or are seeking an experience that combines practice, purpose, and nature, the Doutores das Águas Amazon Experience is for you.
The voluntourism program offers a transformative immersion: over 12 days in the Amazon Rainforest, you will join an expedition aboard a river vessel providing integrated health, education, culture, and community care initiatives to riverside communities.
Beyond professional practice, you will have direct contact with the culture, lifestyles, and unique challenges of these territories. You will participate in educational activities, cultural exchanges, and knowledge sharing, learning about healthcare delivery in remote contexts while contributing to the care of approximately 1,250 people.
Departing from Manaus, the expedition will navigate extensive stretches of the Amazon region's rivers, stopping at 8 communities and reaching more than 30 surrounding localities.
